Juvenile black bellied plover. I wish I had found this little guy when he just a baby. He would have been really cute and tiny.
Adult black bellied plover. He just kind of stood there like "What do you want?"
Snowy egrets and a great egret fishing off the jetty next to the fishing pier. The sun had gone down behind some nasty clouds.
Snowy egret got a fish!
"Mom, feed me" says the juvenile sandwich tern. Although he's probably big enough to fend for himself, they tend to beg for a while at that age.
Great blue heron thought he had a fish but it was just seaweed.
Cute raccoon hanging around the picnic area.
these are all great! love sharing your 'walks'.
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs.

Great photos, Dina!! Boomer & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteDina, I've so enjoyed walking with you! Your photos are amazing. Such clarity. I enjoyed all the birds and the raccoon, too!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of National Geography. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh how often have I felt like that great blue heron with nothing but seaweed dangling from my hook.
ReplyDeleteCute raccoon and really good bird shots and observations. The snowy egret looks so odd crouching lie that, I guess the water was too deep to stand in.
Wonderful shots - love the reflections on the sand especially.
ReplyDeleteThe little racoon has such a cute face ! I better close this page before my cat sees all these birds, lol !
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics. Amazing color, especially in the snowy's feet!
ReplyDeleteLovely close ups of your wonderful wildlife..
ReplyDeleteAll great photos but I especially liked the egret with the fish.
ReplyDeleteAh ha! You have plovers too Dina! Awesome pictures this week. Is it my imagination or does your Snowy egret have two fish in it's beak?
ReplyDeleteCheers to you!
I'm jealous that you can just stop by Fort De Soto after work! It was great seeing you there on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteImpressive photos! I love all, however the snowy egret is my favourite, and raccoon is superb!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I love the Egrets fishing off the jetty!
ReplyDeleteDina, Very cool 3 hour drive. Y'all really got to see a great selection of wildlife. The Prairie Dogs would be my favorite also.:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird photo's, but I love the bandit racoon pic, they are so cute. We used to have a pair visit a motel we managed in Pacific Grove, I used to feed them crusts from my freshly baked bread, much to hubbies disgust, he liked the crusts too!
