Yes, that's an osprey sitting on the top of the boat. I wonder if he left any fish guts behind.
Another abandoned boat. Kay, a fellow blogger, made a comment recently about abandoned boats. They are everywhere here. I guess in this economy, people can't afford them anymore. Some are still in good shape and I think must have just gotten loose in a storm and it takes a while for the owner to find out and get it back. But, there are so many that are stranded that look pretty bad. And they sit there for months. The big one stranded across from Fort Desoto is still there. That's been sitting there for several months. It's really sad.
Beautiful skies over Tampa Bay.
Clouds over Tampa, from across the bay.
Another stop at the Safety Harbor fishing pier on my way home from work. It was a rare night that it wasn't raining. I thought the summer rains were suppose to stop by the end of September but it keeps happening here. I try to get out after work and most days its either pouring or about to. I wish I could get a really big fan and blow the rains across the gulf to Texas.

Pretty views of the skies over Florida, can't wait till we get to visit again soon. That is sad about lost boats, they are such an investment and their workmanship is often a work of art.
ReplyDeleteGreat clouds!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteI love the skies around here. On Sunday we went down to the beach for a walk ...we usually go for sun set but it was rainy and cloudy so we thought no suunset, so no camera...that was the wrong thing to do. There was a spectacular cloud scene at the horizon, bright outlined, pinks, purples and bright deep blue peaking out in spots that were open sky. As we were walking out onto the beach eveyone was looking the other way...at the brightes tallest rainbow I have ever seen! Again did I mention that I didn't have my camera! Argh!!!:(
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful views! It´s sad to hear about lost boats! The clouds on the last two photos are very beautiful.Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour ospreys are far friendlier than ours, what a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI wonder the Osprey has not nested on the boat. In your last shot, the clouds look like they are talking to each other. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteSimply beautifully captured shots...lovely!
ReplyDeleteIf I still lived at the coast, I'd want to run down to Tampa to salvage a boat or two or three. Good thing I'm on the prairie now, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThose cloud photos are absolutely spectacular, Dina. I love them.
Glad the ibis wasn't badly injured by the gibbon. "I was Grabbed by a Gibbon" by Ike Ibis, special to the bird scandal sheets!
