Backyard Birds

Juvenile blue heron walking around the channel during low tide.

Doves fighting over a spot on the feeder. Taken through the bedroom window.

Male house finch looking at me through the window.

Downy woodpecker in the grapefruit tree.

Yeah! An eastern phoebe sitting on my fence. Taken through the dining room window. My husband thinks I'm crazy when I go running through the house to get my camera yelling "There's a phoebe on the fence."  All he could think of was Phoebe from "Friends".

  5. You've got to love an understanding spouse if your wiggy with bird watching. I hope hubby appreciates the free education he receives from being so close to a passionate person. In FL it's pretty hard not to be impressed by the bird life!

  13. Ha, mine thinks I'm rather warped too as I leave whatever to grab my camera and sidle out the door. Such a pity we are discouraged to feed birds here, it would make snaffling them so much easier. Instead I plant nectar hearing bushes to encourage the honey-eaters to visit. Love the little birds posing for you.
